Main Community Partnership Leads to Successful Recycling Collection

Today, the Secondary Raw Materials Collection Station at “Proektna, 3” received another batch of recyclables for processing:

✅ Glass cullet
✅ Polyethylene film
✅ Paper
✅ Tin cans
✅ PET bottles

All of the materials were collected within the territory of the Turya Remetivska United Territorial Community. Thanks to established cooperation with Ivan Kmetych, we are working together to protect the environment. Without this system in place, much of this waste could have ended up in streams, fields, or along roadsides. Unfortunately, we still witness cases of irresponsible littering, even though these materials can and should be recycled.

“Our cooperation began with the installation of a small baler for recyclables. Later, we provided sorting bins, purchased within the framework of the international Callaction project in partnership with PET Kupa and Diageo. We also supplied recycling containers to the local school so that children could start learning proper waste management early on,” shared Ruslan Shvarts.

“Starting out wasn’t easy — not everyone immediately understood the importance of waste separation, and illegal dumping outside the village still occurs. But the results speak for themselves: most residents now realize that without organized sorting and collection, all the waste we’ve already sent for recycling would have ended up scattered around the village outskirts.

Our organization will continue working to keep the community clean and once again calls on young people and every resident to join ecological initiatives. Only together can we make our villages a true example of order, responsibility, and care.”
