Eco-Training for Teenagers at Uzhhorod Scientific Lyceum

On December 15, the Green Varosh team of lecturers visited the Uzhhorod Scientific Lyceum to conduct an eco-themed training session.
During the event, students discussed the current state of the planet, the problem of excessive and thoughtless consumption of resources, waste sorting, illegal landfills, and possibilities for recycling.
Special attention was paid to the everyday habits of teenagers, particularly the consumption of instant meals (such as instant noodles in single-use plastic packaging), the use of plastic for hot food and beverages, and the associated risks for both children’s and adults’ health.

The discussion also covered natural disasters caused by careless treatment of nature, environmental threats arising from the war in Ukraine, and the impact of consumer culture and single-use packaging.
The meeting was held as a live discussion, during which students practiced critical thinking, learned to argue their positions, and make conscious choices in everyday life.
Environmental education is crucial for reducing regional pollution and broadening the worldview of young people.
