Uzhhorod, June 11, 2025 – The Secondary Raw Materials Collection Station “Proektna 3” welcomed inquisitive and proactive guests – second-year environmental science students from one of Uzhhorod’s universities. The visit took place as part of their general ecological field practice, serving as a hands-on complement to their theoretical coursework. The future environmental specialists had the chance to see firsthand how the station operates – a key link in Uzhhorod’s waste management system. The students were introduced to the processes of receiving, sorting, and preparing various types of recyclable materials – paper, plastic, glass, and metal – for further processing.
During the tour, the importance of household-level waste sorting and its impact on reducing environmental strain was discussed. The students also learned about the Callaction project, cooperation with international organizations, the Ecobus initiative, and future development plans. They actively asked questions about logistics, recycling technologies, and the economic aspects of this crucial work.
“It is extremely important for us to be part of the educational process and to share our practical experience with the younger generation. They are the ones who will build a future where responsible consumption and respect for resources become the norm,” the station representatives noted.
Events like this are a great opportunity to demonstrate to young people that recyclables are not just waste, but a valuable resource that can and should be reintegrated into the production cycle.
The team at "Proektna 3" extends sincere thanks to the university faculty for their initiative and hopes that the tour inspired students with new ideas and further steps toward protecting the environment.
