ZelenO: Smart Waste Sorting — A Step Toward a Sustainable Future

On June 15–16, Uzhhorod hosted a series of educational lectures on smart waste sorting, which became an important step in raising environmental awareness among the local community. The event was part of the ZelenO initiative aimed at promoting responsible waste management.

The lectures focused not only on the "how" and "what" of sorting but also on understanding why this practice is essential for a sustainable future.
Participants learned:

  • how to begin sorting without stress;
  • why recycling is key to preserving the environment;
  • how everyone can contribute, even with minimal resources.

The sessions were led by Ruslan Shvarts — an eco-activist and environmental education speaker. Through real-life examples and a motivational approach, he equipped participants with both knowledge and practical tools for making environmentally responsible choices.

The event served as a platform for open discussion, knowledge sharing, and forming new connections among people committed to environmental action. We sincerely thank all participants for their engagement, thoughtful questions, and genuine interest in building a cleaner, more sustainable world.
